doc. dr. Jelka Pirkovič Visokošolska učiteljica
Doc. dr. Jelka Pirkovič je leta 1991 doktorirala iz konservatorstva. Bila je zaposlena v varstvu kulturne dediščine in na Ministrstvu za kulturo. Med letoma 2009 in 2014 je bila generalna direktorica Zavoda za varstvo kulturne dediščine Slovenije, med 2020 in 2022 pa generalna direktorica Direktorata za kulturno dediščino Ministrstva za kulturo. Med drugim je bila dejavna v telesih Sveta Evrope, še posebej pri pripravi Okvirne konvencije o vrednosti kulturne dediščine za družbo (2005) in Evropske dediščinske strategijie za 21. Stoletje (2017). Skupaj z ddr. Vereno Perko poučuje Arheologijo za javnost in Upravljanje arheološke dediščine na Filozofski fakulteti UL. Sodeluje na medfakultetnem doktorskem programu UL Heritologija. Na FSMŠ je skupaj z ddr. Perko nosilka predmetov Kultura in ekonomija – marketing, turizem in Razvoj in promocija kulturne dediščine Slovenije. Občasno sodeluje še na individualnem študijskem programu tretje stopnje na FSMŠ. Je dobitinica Steletove nagrade za življensko delo in dolgoletna članica ICOMOS.

Doc. Dr. Jelka Pirkovič earned her doctorate in conservation in 1991. She has been employed in the field of cultural heritage protection and at the Ministry of Culture. Between 2009 and 2014, she served as the Director General of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia, and from 2020 to 2022, she was the Director General of the Directorate for Cultural Heritage at the Ministry of Culture. Among other roles, she has been active in the bodies of the Council of Europe, particularly in the preparation of the Framework Convention on the Value of Cultural Heritage for Society (2005) and the European Heritage Strategy for the 21st Century (2017). Together with Prof. Verena Perko, Ph.D., she teaches Archaeology for the Public and Archaeological Heritage Management at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana. She participates in the interfaculty doctoral program Heritology at the University of Ljubljana. At FSMŠ (Faculty of Slovene and Mediterranean Studies), she co-lectures the subjects Culture and Economy – Marketing, Tourism and Development and Promotion of Slovenia’s Cultural Heritage with Prof. Perko. Occasionally, she also contributes to the individual third-cycle study program at FSMŠ. She is a recipient of the Stele Award for lifetime achievement and a long-standing member of ICOMOS.
